Ecological Restoration Notes: Considered one of the world's worst weeds. Freely hybridizes with all three Florida endemic Lantana depressa varieties, threatening then with extinction.

Range: Nonnative and highly invasive in Florida. Native to tropical America, but its precise origins are confused through long cultivation and hybridization.

Plant Map Map of select IRC data from peninsular Florida.

Wildlife and Ecology: Nectar plant for field skipper (Atalopedes campestris), gulf fritillary (Agraulis vanillae), hammock skipper (Polygonus leo), julia (Dryas iulia), long-tailed skipper (Urbanus proteus), mangrove skipper (Phocides pigmalion), other butterflies, and moths.
