Availability:
Rarely grown by native plant nurseries.
Description: Erect shrub 6 feet tall with exceedingly fine needle-like foliage. Branches are weeping with bark almost black on young plants and silvery gray on older plants. Golden yellow flowers with prominent stamens.
Dimensions: Typically 6 feet in height, taller than broad.
Range:
Endemic to Florida, Washington and Bay counties.

Habitats: Pond margins and sinks.
Soils: Wet to moist, moderately well-drained to poorly drained organic soils.
Salt Water Tolerance: Low; does not tolerate flooding by salt or brackish water.
Salt Wind Tolerance: Low; salt wind may burn the leaves.
Drought Tolerance: Low; requires moist to wet soils and is intolerant of long periods of drought.
Light Requirements: Full sun to light shade.
Flower Color: Yellow.
Flower Characteristics: Showy.
Flowering Season: Late spring-fall.
Wildlife and Ecology: Attracts pollinators.
