Widely available in central Florida. Commonly available at native plant nurseries in South Florida. Available at native plant nurseries in northeast Florida.
Description: Small wildflower with narrow leaves 2-5 inches long. Notched yellow flowers with yellow centers.
Dimensions: Typically 1-3 feet in height, as broad as tall.
Growth Rate: Fast.
Range:
North America south to the Florida Panhandle, then scattered south to Lake and Volusia counties.

Habitats: Sandhills and disturbed sites
Soils: Moist to dry, well-drained sandy soils, without humus.
Salt Water Tolerance: Low; does not tolerate long-term flooding by salt or brackish water.
Salt Wind Tolerance: Low; salt wind may burn the leaves.
Drought Tolerance: High; does not require any supplemental water once established.
Light Requirements: Full sun to light shade.
Flower Color: Yellow
Flower Characteristics: Showy.
Flowering Season: March-August.
Wildlife and Ecology: Attracts native bees and other beneficial insects. Provides seeds and insects for birds.
