Description: Long-lived aquatic perennial 6 inches tall with a sprawling growth habit. Tubular lavender to pinkish-white flowers. Aromatic when crushed.
Dimensions: Typically 6 inches tall, sprawling to be more broad than tall.
Growth Rate: Moderate.
Range:
Scattered in the southeastern United States south to Miami-Dade County, but scattered and rare throughout most of Florida.

Habitats: Lake edges, freshwater wetlands, floodplain forests
Soils: Moist to wet, seasonally inundated organic, sandy or calcareous soils, with or without humusy top layer.
Salt Water Tolerance: Low; does not tolerate long-term flooding by salt or brackish water.
Salt Wind Tolerance: Low; salt wind may burn the leaves.
Drought Tolerance: Low; requires moist to wet soils and is intolerant of long periods of drought.
Light Requirements: Full sun to light shade.
Flower Color: Lavender to pinkish-white
Flower Characteristics: Semi-inconspicuous.
Flowering Season: Spring to fall.
