General Landscape Uses: A weedy native, mostly along the coast. Not recommended for general landscape use.

Availability: Grown by enthusiasts.

Range: Southern United States; West Indies, Mexico, Central America and South America.

Salt Wind Tolerance: Moderate; grows near salt water, but is protected from direct salt spray by other vegetation.

Wildlife and Ecology: Nectar plant for great southern white (Ascia monuste), Schaus' swallowtail (Papilio aristodemius ponceasus) and other butterflies.
