Description:
A small bird measuring up to 6 inches in length. Olive-green above, white below with streaked spots, a white eyering, and an orange crown bordered by black stripes.
Range:
Breeds in northeastern North America and winters in Florida, Mexico, Central America, South America, and the West Indies.
Habitat(s):
Mature forests with little undergrowth.
Reproduction:
3 to 6 white eggs, with brown spots, are laid in an oven-shaped nest placed on the ground.
Food:
This species feeds on insects.
Comments:
Can be found in South Florida during the winter months.
