Description:
	Small butterfly measuring up to 1 1/2" in length. The wings are dark brown in color, the upperside has a few pale spots, the underside has yellow veins and a short white bar. The caterpillar is yellowish green.
Range:
	Southeast and eastern United States.
Habitat(s):
	Coastal salt and brackish marshes, occasionally in nearby fields and wood edges.
Reproduction:
	Several broods from February to December in Florida. Light green eggs are laid singly on host leaves.
Natural History:
	Adults have a low, rapid flight.
Food:
	Larval host plants include the native saltgrass (Distichlis spicata). Nectar host plants include the native blue mistflower (Conoclinium coelestinum ) and thistle (Cirsium spp.) and the nonnative red clover (Trifolium pratense).
