Description:
	Medium sized butterfly measuring up to 2 3/8" in length. The upperside of the male is white in color with a yellow basal area and a vertical black bar. The underside has raised veins and a satin sheen. The female is yellow or white. The tip of the forewing is square-shaped.
Range:
	Southern USA south to Venezuela.
Distribution and Abundance in Florida:
	Restricted to southern Miami-Dade County and the Florida keys in Florida.
Habitat(s):
	Scrub lowlands and forests.
Natural History:
	Adults frequently migrate across Texas. Caterpillars can be found hiding in bark during the day.
Food:
	Larval host plants include the native lignumvitae (Guaiacum sanctum). Nectar host plants include the native black mangrove (Avicennia germinans).
