	Available at native plant nurseries in northeast and central Florida.
Description:
	Clump-forming, moderately spreading evergreen wildflower with showy, yellow ray flowers 2.5 inches wide. Leaves rough and hairy. 6-8 inches long.
Height:
	Typically 2-4 feet in height.
Growth Rate:
	Fast.
Range:
	Eastern United States south to Jackson, Gadsden, Wakulla, Taylor, and Dixie counties.
Habitats:
	Flatwoods, prairies.
Soils:
	Moist, well-drained sandy or limestone soils, without humus.
Nutritional Requirements:
	Low; it grows in nutrient poor soils.
Salt Water Tolerance:
	Low; does not tolerate long-term flooding by salt or brackish water.
Salt Wind Tolerance:
	Low; salt wind may burn the leaves.
Drought Tolerance:
	Moderate; generally requires moist soils, but tolerant of short periods of drought once established.
Light Requirements:
	Full sun.
Flower Color:
	Yellow.
Flower Characteristics:
	Showy.
Flowering Season:
	Summer.
Fruit:
	Thin nutlets.
