Friends of IRC Membership


Friends of IRC (FOIRC) invites each and every person who cares about our natural heritage to become a FOIRC member for as little as $25 per year. Your contribution will go directly to sustaining IRC’s efforts to ensure conservation and restoration in our community… efforts that we can all benefit from, here and now. IRC is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. Your donation (anything over the $25 basic membership) is tax-deductible. Please join us now and receive the following benefits:

  • A yearly subscription to Friends of IRC News, our quarterly newsletter that features spectacular nature photography and in-depth reporting on IRC findings and activities, as well as South Florida natural history and evironmental issues
  • Email updates on IRC happenings
  • Invitations to IRC educational and social events, including nature excursions and parties

IRC runs entirely on program grants and contracts, so your donations allow us to pursue conservation goals that, while needed, might not get funded by traditional sources. At the moment, we're implementing many of the conservation needs uncovered during more than ten years of plant research in South Florida. Your donations allow us to design restoration, education and outreach programs that address these issues. In addition, we're currently expanding our research to include wildlife and intend to include that information on our "Natives for Your Neighborhood" website to further your gardening experience!

Perhaps the greatest benefit you'll receive, however, when you join the Friends of IRC, is the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping to preserve irreplaceable wildlands, save endangered and threatened plants and wildlife, and protect this fragile environment we call home.

 

IRC's Wish List

IRC is also happy to accept the donation of goods. At the moment, we need:

  • Raffle & Auction items for our Oct 13, 2007 fundraiser (please contact us for details)
  • Computer Desks
  • Filing Cabinets
  • Coffee Table
  • Canoe
  • Nursery Equipment (hard-to-find native plants, pots, soil, wheelbarrow, etc.)
