John B. James, M.S.

John joined IRC in November 2009 as Team Leader for the Miami-Dade County Exotic Plant Control Crew. A native of St. Lucia, John has a long and diverse history of involvement with forestry issues throughout the Caribbean. He obtained his B.S. from the University of New Brunswick in Canada and acquired an M.S. in Forest Resource Conservation from the University of Florida at Gainesville. A professional arborist, he has also undergone several technical training courses in GIS, biological diversity, and various aspects of forestry. John’s forestry and landscaping skills are the perfect compliment to IRC’s existing plant knowledge and will hopefully help us expand in new directions in the future!
