Implementation and management of small scale ecological restoration projects, exotic plant control, floristic inventories and rare plant surveys.

Other Skills

Database design, management, and application, especially Microsoft Access and ArcGIS. Completed Environmental Systems Research Institute’s Introduction to ArcGIS II course. Trained as an instructor by the Emergency Care and Safety Institute in CRP, First Aid and Wilderness First Aid.

Professional Experience

The Institute for Regional Conservation, Miami, FL. June 2005 – present

Manage ecological restoration projects aimed at restoring imperiled pine rockland and rockland hammock habitat in South Florida. Other projects include mapping and surveying for rare plant species and invasive plant species; vegetation monitoring; floristic inventories; and providing general field and technical support on various IRC projects.

Fairchild Tropical Garden, Miami, Florida. 2005.

Served as a volunteer for Fairchild biologists and provided general field assistance on various rare plant monitoring projects throughout Miami-Dade County. In addition, processed and accessioned herbarium specimens for the herbarium at Fairchild Tropical Garden.

City of Coral Gables, Coral Gabes, Florida. 2004 – present.

Trained lifeguards at the Venetian Pool, and acted as direct supervisor to lifeguards. Also conducted daily water quality tests, served as a customer service representative and maintained a safe environment at the Venetian Pool. Current capacity is limited to the overseeing after-hours facility rentals.
