Range: Scattered in northern and central Florida south to Indian River, Lake, Sumpter, and Levy counties.

Salt Water Tolerance: Low; does not tolerate long-term flooding by salt or brackish water.

Salt Wind Tolerance: Secondary line; tolerates significant salt wind without injury, but usually is somewhat protected.

Light Requirements: Full sun.

Wildlife and Ecology: Valuable source of nectar for birds.
